How to Advertise your Home Based Business on a Budget

No business survives modern day competition, without some form of regular advertising, hence business owners and promoters will definitely consider using advertising to promote thier business now or in the future.The greatest challenge as regards advertising is in determining how much should be voted/budgeted for advertising and where/how it will be spent.

There is this misrepresentation that you need real cash to advertise your home based business;however this is not so,though if just starting,honestly there will not be much money available for advertising, and even if available it has to be spent wisely.

Note that if you do it rightly your advertisemt could endlessly bring you good returns for decade ahead, but if if done wrongly, your whole budget for advertising could go down the drain with no return on your investment.Advertising of your home based business or other business could be done online and offline respectively.Let me share some of my experience with you thus;

Experience A
Endeavour to test your advertising means, before you begin to commit heavy cash on it, as failure to carryout this test can affect your advetising budget negatively, and by extension the business itself.Understanding the different types of advertising and promotional means available have a positive impact in decision making on how best to spend on advertising.

Experience B
Multiple advertising in different media ( Television, Magazine,Newspaper, Radio ) continously will definitely bring results , but it is advisable to know which of the various media brings in more more people. However this is not possible when the advertising is done simultaneous in different media( Television, Newspaper, Radio , Magazine). They are all offline advertising that satisfies a target audience. Advertising in these media really cost money, as it is equally being patronise by big and giant companies and organisations respectively, but with some homework, one can still benefits as all it entails is placing advertisement during Off Peak Period. This can be negogiated with the media executives , by checking your local radio and television rates for off peak period.

Experience C
Invest heavily on a medium of advertising only when that source had been proven to bring in considerable number of people than other means, even then continous tracking/measurement to determine how much maximum advantage of an advertisememt would be is still required, so as to get the fullest advantage of that media at lesser cost.

Experience D
There are some other advertising media that does not really require large cash, as advertising does not start and end with radio, newspaper , television advertisement. You can still talk to people one - on - one basis about your business, such as these few examples;
1. One - on - one ( Word of Mouth) discussion
2. Business Cards

1. One -on - One discussion ( Word of mouth); This is the cheapest medium to advertise, as it cost nothing to achieve. Contact people/customer on individual basis, tell them about your services or product, and they inturn tell others , having seen the goodness of your product or services.

2. Busines Card; With business cards, all that is needed about your business is already written on it, hence as you you distribute to people you come along , so your message spreads.
Whichever method or means or media choosen for advertising, you should be knowledgeable about your market, the consumers reached by each media. It is of neccessity that you understand which consumers reached by certain media and the volume involved. Whatever advertising media you intend spending your cash on, you should always track the result of your efforts, as this goes a long way into determining the success or failure of a business.
Understanding the returns associated with aech advertising media , helps in the growth of your business and equally your bank account.
